EXISTENCE OF THE INDIVIDUAL AND SOCIETY (2024-2025)

selected works

This project questions how the individual exists within society. It explores how personal dignity and the sense of existence are erased, marginalized, and rendered invisible by social systems. This inquiry stems from my own experience—specifically, the period of compulsory military service I underwent under the constraints of national control during the COVID-19 pandemic. The military, as a closed and dehumanizing structure, functioned as a system that reduced individuals to mere units of functionality, and within it, I directly experienced the erosion of my own existence. The loss of self—visible in the widespread depression and psychological suffering among soldiers—was something I confronted closely, yet society largely ignored or concealed these aspects. The individual is always embedded within a structure, just as the structure itself is shaped and sustained by individuals. This project examines how individuals gradually lose their existence within social systems and seeks to visualize the latent, silent forms of violence that reside within.

S m a r t F a r m ’ shows,
how society in the future controls humans. Even before birth, the environment and atmosphere are optimized and regulated by a system. The human being is a living creature that grows up in an environment created by society and must adapt to its specifications. Human life is regarded as something easy, as in the game ‘Sims’, and is controlled by ‘someone’. In the game ‘Sims’, the player creates their own city and determines everything from the ground up, including the creation of people. This control opens up a perspective on how society controls humans. Through this work, the observer can experience how they control a human life through the game Sims.
